A furnace dies in New City tonight. Do you know who gets that job? Not the best contractor — the first one the homeowner finds, in the top three map results, with fresh reviews.
The three-pack is the whole ballgame
Google weighs relevance (does your profile and site clearly say what you do and where), prominence (reviews, photos, activity), and proximity. You can’t move your shop — so you win on the other two.
Name your towns
A single “Services” page can’t rank for “electrician in Pearl River” and “electrician in Spring Valley” at once. Winning contractors give each core service and each main town its own genuinely useful page — local photos, typical jobs, straight answers.
Most competitors are asleep
The majority of local trades haven’t touched their listing since they claimed it. That’s the opening — 60–120 days of consistent work moves most Hudson Valley trades into the three-pack for smaller towns.
